APAR status

Error description

  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator provides support for SWIFT messages
through the SWIFTNet7Adapters and MEFG components.
Support for SSL communication between IBM Sterling B2B
Integrator and MEFG is provided by dynamically linked OpenSSL
libraries. In the prior version, support for 2 different MEFG
installations were included:


MEFG that requires OpenSSL 1.0.1
MEFG that requires OpenSSL 0.9.8

OpenSSL 0.9.8 libraries were announced as End of Life in
December 2015.

No further security fixes will be provided to the 0.9.8
libraries.

OpenSSL 0.9.8 was removed from Support by OpenSSL.org in 2015.

  • Resolution Summary:
SI MEFG Installation for OpenSSL 0.9.8 have been removed from
the iFix Patch.  MEFG installations should be using using
OpenSSL 1.0.2 installations in order to receive critical
security patches from OpenSSL.
