Error description

  • Customer deploys a message flow application with SAP Adapter
with initial structures for IDOC. Later they update the
structure of one of the IDOCs defined in the SAP Adapter and
redeploy the message flow application. But the adapter
continues to use the old structures. Stopping and restarting
the message flow does not fix the problem. Only after
restarting the integration server, the new structure takes
    effect.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a new definition of an IDOC structure is deployed over the
existing one, the new changes do not take effect until the
integration server is restarted. This issue is caused due to
the caching of the segment information in Adapter's cache which
gets flushed only upon the restart of the JVM, i.e. restart of
the integration server in IBM Integration Bus.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Integration Bus APAR IT18098 ships Adapters APAR JR57037
which provides functionality to reset the cache in the Adapter
    during deploy.
