Error description

  • Using IBM MQ for AIX Version 7.5.0.5 or Version 8.0.0.5 and if
configuration event generation on a queue manager is enabled.
If using a command like the one below in which the ADDRLIST
    contains multiple addresses
    .
    SET CHLAUTH(*) TYPE(BLOCKADDR) ADDRLIST('10.10.*',
    '192.168.0.*', 168.x.x.x) ACTION(ADD)
    .
then the PCF event message generated has a blank ADDRLIST.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users issuing the SET CHLAUTH command with arguments:

    TYPE(BLOCKADDR) ADDRLIST(entry1)
This creates a message with field type MQCFST instead of MQCFSL

    TYPE(BLOCKADDR) ADDRLIST(entry1,entry2...)
This creates a message with a blank field type MQCFSL

    TYPE(BLOCKUSER) USERLIST(entry1)
This creates a message with field type MQCFST instead of MQCFSL

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A programming error meant that the wrong field type was being
written to the configuration event message where there was a
single entry in a list of addresses or a list of users.

A blank field was written in the case where the address list
    contained multiple entries

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ queue manager configuration event logic has been
updated to always use a MQCFSL data type for these events, in
    line with the product documentation.
