APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After IBM Spectrum Control upgrade in 5.2.11, it may be no
  longer possible to save the Alert Definition for Storage System.
  The Alert definition can be edited but the "save" button is
  greyed out.
  
  The problem occurs because the Alert Definition (Storage
  Subsystem-> General -> Status) for the Storage System was not
  done correctly during the upgrade in IBM Spectrum Control
  5.2.11.
   This alert was set to trigger when the storage system is
  Unreachable.
  The value stored in the database for Unreachable storage system
  changed from 3 to -1.
  This change should have happened during migration, but did not.
  
  The alert cannot be saved because the Web-GUI validates all the
  values before enabling the Save button;  since the Status alert
  value is invalid, shown in Web-GUI as red asterisk, the Save
  button is not enabled.
  

Local fix

• 1. In TPC Web-GUI -> Storage -> Block Storage Systems -> Select
  the storage subsystem -> Actions -> View Details
  2. Then under General, click on Alerts.
  3. On the right side, click on Definitions
  4. Then choose Storage System -> General
  5. The enable the "Status" alert and set it as "Unreachable"
  6. Save.
