Error description

  • If connectivity between two appliances that are configured in a
high availability group is lost then it is possible for the
queue manager to become active on both appliances. If after
restoring connectivity between the appliances the queue manager
is deleted on one of the appliances while it is still active on
both systems then an error occurs deleting resources on the
other appliance because they are in use. The queue manager is
partially deleted and attempts to use dltmqm on the other
appliance to delete the resources that remain might also fail.

The error message appears similar to the following:

AMQ6589: Failed to remove high availability configuration on
    appliance
    '<appliance>'.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of the IBM MQ Appliance who have established appliances in
    a high availability configuration.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An attempt was made to delete resources for the queue manager on
the remote appliance without checking if the queue manager is
    active beforehand.

Problem conclusion

  • Delete processing has been updated to check if the queue manager
is active on the remote appliance before attempting to delete
resources on that system. A partial deletion response is
returned on the local appliance, which instructs the user to
manually stop and delete the queue manager on the remote system.
