APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After upgrading from an earlier Spectrum Control release to
    5.2.11, when you navigate to the Groups --> Tiers panel; an
    error message states that no tiers have been defined.  This
    happens despite tiers having been defined pre-upgrade, with
    pools associated to those tiers.
    This is due to the fact that the default optimization policies
    are missing in the T_PLAN_OPTIMIZATION_POLICY table, the tiers
    are not displayed .
    RECREATE STEPS:
    Observe the "no tiers have been found" message in the UI after
    upgrading.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem only occurred in IBM Spectrum Control 5.2.11
