Error description

  • During the deploy of updates to an IIB Application some parts
    may be created in the Integration Node workspace with multiple
    repeating .rmv extensions.
    
    The broker Integration server becomes unresponsive to mqsi
    commands, and may have to be deleted and recreated.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of WebSphere Message Broker V8.0 and IBM Integration
    Bus V9.0 and above deploying a BAR file containing updates to a
    previously deployed ESQL file.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    z/OS, MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    During deploy of updates to an IIB Application, existing files
    are renamed and a .rmv file extension is appended. This is to
    enable the original state of the Application to be recovered if
    the deploy is unsuccessful.
    
    The files with the .rmv extension should be removed after each
    deploy action in all cases, whether the deploy was successful or
    if it fails.
    
    In the reported instance a file containing ESQL updates fails to
    be deployed, but the recovery step creates multiple versions of
    previously deployed artifacts, each with repeating .rmv
    extensions.
    
    The Integration server becomes unresponsive to mqsi commands.
    
    There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
    Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0.  For details

Problem conclusion

  • The product now cleans up all temporary files which are created
    with the .rmv extension during the deploy process.
