Error description
DETAIL OF PROBLEM: After upgrade of TPC or Spectrum Control to version 5.2.10 Storage system probes begin to hang, which may cause subsequent scheduled Probe jobs to fail due to the hanging probes. Accessing the Web GUI may become problematic, especially when attempting to access Storage Device panels due to database locks caused by the Device server not releasing the lock placed on the database table while performing maintenance activity. Rebooting the server will temporarily restore access to the GUI until the next time a Storage System probe runs and locks the database. RECREATE STEPS: Upgrade an existing TPC or Spectrum Control environment actively monitoring SVC/Storwize devices to Spectrum Control v5.2.10. Allow scheduled Storage system Probe jobs to run and observe job run time increase with subsequent runs of the Probes beginning to fail. GUI usability degrades and Storage panels will no longer load. ________________________________________________________________ DB2 Version used for Server: N/A The defect is against component: 5608TPCA0 Server/Manager build/release (TPC): 5.2.10 ___________________________________________________ Problem as described by customer: Probe jobs taking many hours to complete (12-24hrs) when normally complete in 1 or 2 hours.
