APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Database has inconsistent data for the performance monitor jobs
  and leads to a null pointer exception error seen in the data
  server trace logs. This prevents monitor jobs from starting or
  running.

Problem conclusion

• Added a better descriptive message, when the policy is not found
  in TPCDB and handled the NPE.
  When this message is found in the Device trace files: "Custom
  Policy was null for devId:", there may be a need for L3 to
  provide an SQL script to clean the TPCDB tables (T_SCHEDULE,
  T_RUNS, T_RUN_JOBS) for the specific IDs.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
  package:

  Fixed in IBM Spectrum Control 5.2.11.
