APAR status

Error description

  • Randomly and very intermittently, the configuration file of the
IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Workstation client
"fpa.txt"might get reset to the defaults which means all
customized settings like the remote repository location, backup
policy, etc. are gone. There is no error to be seen that causes
the problem.
There is also no specific error indicating the reset has
happened except the client not backing up anything as no backup
rules are defined anymore.

Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Workstation client
6.3.x and 7.1.x on Windows
