IT14660: MQ APPLICATION UNABLE TO RETRIEVE PREVIOUSLY BROWSED MESSAGE FROM SHARED SUBSCRIPTION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An MQ application co-operatively browses a message on a shared
  subscription (MQGMO_MARK_BROWSE_CO_OP), but is then disconnected
  from the queue manager. Once unlocked the message is not
  redelivered on subsequent attempts to browse the queue, until a
  further message is put to the queue.
  
  This issue has been observed with MQ JMS Activation
  Specifications running in an application server.
  

Local fix

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Because of a programming error, the queue manager was failing to
  re-deliver messages that had previously been browsed and marked
  but then unmarked until another message was put to the same
  queue.
  

Problem conclusion

• The queue manager has been changed to re-deliver messages to
  eligible browsers as soon as a marked message becomes unmarked.
