APAR status

Error description

  • The MQ Knowledge Center documents that the client connection
    related event message should contain the connection name and the
    channel name
    ConnName
        Description: 	Connection name for client connection.
        Identifier: 	MQCACH_CONNECTION_NAME.
        Data type: 	MQCFST.
        Maximum length: 	MQ_CONN_NAME_LENGTH.
        Returned: 	If the application making the MQI call that
    caused the event is a client attached application.
    ChannelName
        Description: 	Channel name for client connection.
        Identifier: 	MQCACH_CHANNEL_NAME.
        Data type: 	MQCFST.
        Maximum length: 	MQ_CHANNEL_NAME_LENGTH
        Returned: 	If the application making the MQI call that
    caused the event is a client attached application.
    
     But the current event messages are missing these attributes.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A programming error meant that the event message logic within
    the MQ queue manager omitted to insert the connection name and
    channel name into the event message.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The event message logic within the MQ queue manager has been
    updated to include this information when generating event
    messages for client connections.
