IT13404: INSTALLATION OF IBM MQ V8 or RUNNING MQCONFIG HANGS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • You have developed a script to install the base MQ V8 product
and find that the installation appears to "hang" and does not
complete.
Your "ps -ef" output shows multiple instances of the mqconfig
script running on your system.

This problem  is also likely to occur when running the mqconfig
script in the background.

This problem is also applicable to MQ 7.5.

Local fix

  • Install MQV8.0.0.4(base installation package) to resolve the
hang problem or
Install MQ  by running the rpm commands on the command line.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
This problem occurred because the interactive option ("i") was
incorrectly used with the shell(e.g. sh) command, causing the
operation to block.

Problem conclusion

  • mqconfig script has been updated to address the problem.
