Error description
Personal Communications 3270 work station profile has a Primary host name, backup 1 host name and backup 2 host name configured. When the Primary and Backup 1 hosts are not available, PCOM will use the Backup 2 host name and show this in the Quick Connect Bar. When the session is closed and restarted later, the Backup 2 host name is used as the Primary. The .WS profile shows that the Primary host name has been replaced by the Backup 2 host name.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * Users of IBM Personal Communications .WS profile having * * Primary and Backup Hosts configured. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * The primary host information in the .WS profile is replaced * * with the backup host information when fail-over action is * * taken during session connection. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** IBM Personal Communications emulator sessions can be configured to hold Primary and Backup Host information. In scenarios when the Primary Host fails to connect or is down, the fail-over mechanism tries performing a connection with the configured backup servers. When the session is closed, the primary host information in the .WS file is replaced with the backup host, to which the connection was established. The .WS profile will now have the backup server details under both the primary and backup server fields.
Problem conclusion
This issue causes loss of primary server information from the .WS profile. Code changes have been made in PCSTLNET.DLL to ensure that the primary server information is not changed during fail-over. Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.17 Refresh Pack
