The problem appears to be timing related and affects only a
single thread responsible for statistics gathering. The rest of
the queue manager and applications appear to be unaffected and
will continue. The statistics gathering will resume when the
    queue manager is restarted.

Local fix

  • Restart queue manager

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of WebSphere MQ V8 running with queue manager statistics
    enabled.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An extremely rare race condition caused a memory access
violation in an MQ agent process (amqlzaa0). This happened
during queue statistic gathering. The affected process
    terminated with SIGSEGV.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ code has been modified to prevent the potential race
    condition during statistic gathering.
