Error description

• The Linux autoconf device configuration utility may be unable
  to bind to some (supported) tape or library devices due to a
  string serialization issue.
  
  Administrators may witness one or more expected tape or library
  changer device paths missing from /dev/tsmscsi/ after running
  autoconf when this problem occurs.  No error is presented
  during autoconf, nor with autoconf tracing.
