APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • On start up, an integration server will create a directory in
    the workpath as follows:

    /var/mqsi/config/{brokerName}/{egLabel}/shared-classes

This directory can be used to store JAR files that will be
loaded into the integration server wide class loader by that
integration server, and that integration server only.

The code for creating this directory is accidentally being run
    from other components.

Because these components are not integration servers, and have
    no {egLabel}, a "null"

    directory is created as follows:
    /var/mqsi/config/{brokerName}/null/shared-classes

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When the integration node processes bipbroker or biphttplistener
start, they can create a directory named "null" in the product
workpath. The directory "null" contains another directory named
"shared-classes". This directory is being created by code that
should only be run in the integration server process
DataFlowEngine. The code is intended to create a per-integration
server "shared-classes" directory for storing JAR files for the
use of that integration server, but there are no checks in place
to stop it running in other processes. The presence of the
directory does not cause any issues, but it should not be
created and can be safely deleted.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

    tools.mft.doc/bb23814_.htm

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been altered so that it only creates integration
server specific "shared-classes" directories in the integration
server process DataFlowEngine, and is not executed elsewhere.
