APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Tivoli Storage Manager Server is unable to eject a mounted tape
    volume when the library does not support auto-eject in a cluster
     failover environment, the secondary server may be not able to
    access this tape drive to dismount the tape volume during
    library initialization after failover. The open failure is about
     device being currently in use.
    The following messages are present in the activity log after the
    failover:
    ANR8413E RESERVE: Drive DRIVE1 (\\.\Tape123) is currently in
    use.
    ANR8779E Unable to open drive \\.\Tape123, error number= 68668.

    v7.1 and v6.1 on AIX, HP, Linux, Solaris, and Windows platforms

Local fix

  • Manually eject the volume from the library GUI or library
    operation panel.
