APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The Integration Toolkit .msgmap to .map conversion tool creates
a new .map file in which the XML does not conform to the schema
defined in the Map Specification Language (MSL) schema. This
does not prevent the .map being loaded in the Graphical Data Map
editor, or deployed, however it does mean the first edit and
save will show many changes not related to the user's edit as
the MSL content is reordered to conform to the schema.

Local fix

  • The newly created .map file can be loaded, altered, make a
change to a documentation entry and saved to force the
reordering of the MSL content to be conformant with the MSL
    schema

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The Toolkit .msgmap to .map conversion utility creates a new
.map file in which the XML does not conform to the XML schema
defined in the Map Specification Language (MSL) schema. This
does not prevent the .map being loaded in the Graphical Data Map
editor, or deployed and executed, however it does mean the first
user edit and save of the .map file will show many changes not
related to the user's edit as the XML content is reordered to
conform to the MSL XML schema.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • The Toolkit .msgmap to .map conversion utility now produces a
.map file that conforms to the XML schema defined in the Map
    Specification Language (MSL) schema.
