APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An HTTPInput node with a space in its path suffix can consume
any message received by the broker-wide listener, including
messages targeted at other HTTPInput or SOAPInput nodes
(although those nodes will sometimes pick up their own messages
as expected, so the behaviour is unpredictable). Applies to http
    and https.

Local fix

  • The problem can be avoided if you can either:
    1. avoid the use of spaces in the path prefix for HTTPInput
    nodes, or
    2. use the 'integration server' (or 'embedded') listener instead
    of the broker-wide listener

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An HTTPInput node with a space in its path suffix can consume
any message received by the broker-wide listener, including
messages targeted at other HTTPInput or SOAPInput nodes. Note
that those nodes will sometimes pick up their own messages as
expected, so the behaviour is unpredictable. The outcome is that
the wrong message flow can process a message. Applies to flows
    using either http or https.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Integration Bus has been modified so that an HTTPInput node
can safely have a 'Path suffix for URL' that includes one or
    more space characters.

The problem does not occur in v10 and later because the
mechanism for handling messages received by the HTTP listener
    was changed.
