Error description

  • The Performance Monitor (PM) jobs fail with: HWNPM5400E The
performance data collection identifiers are not valid integers:
schedule ID xxxxxxxx, schedule run number xxxx, job run number
    xxxxxx
The TPC Web-based GUI shows the alerts: Performance monitor
failed" but the performance data are collected.

TPC Web-GUI reports the Performance Monitor (PM) as failed.

The following error can also be seen in the performance monitor
    job log files in ...\TPC\data\log:
HWNPM2022E A performance monitor for device Storwize
    V7000-XXXX-XXXXXX-IBM (00000XXXXXXXXXXXX) is already active. A
new monitor for the same device cannot be started until the
previous monitor completes or is cancelled.

The PM tasks automatically restarting happen on migrated tasks
(an upgrade from an older TPC level).

All the devices may be affected (storage subsystems and
    switches).

Problem conclusion

  • The reason for the corruption of the job schedules after upgrade
from 4.2.x or 5.1.x to 5.2.x was not identified. It is not
commonly occurring. If you believe you may be encountering this
issue, contact support for further analysis and resolution. A
fix via a maintenance upgrade is not available. It requires
manual cleanup as directed by support.
