IT10345: ON WINDOWS, THE WORKSPACE IS NOT LOCKED BY THE INTEGRATION TOOLKIT V9.0

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you have started the IBM Integration Toolkit, opened a
    workspace and, without closing that workspace, you start a
    second instance of the Toolkit, you are able to open the same
    workspace again which should not be allowed on Windows. The
    second instance of the Toolkit should get a message indicating
    that the workspace is locked, and not allow you to open it a
    second time. The problem is specific to Windows and to the IBM
    Integration Toolkit v9.
    

Local fix

  • In the folder where the IBM Integration Toolkit is installed,
    there is a sub folder called "configuration". Inside that sub
    folder there is a file called "config.ini".
    
    Edit the "config.ini" file and either remove the line:
    
     osgi.locking=none
    
    or make it a comment by inserting a hash (#) in as the first
    character such as in:
    
     #osgi.locking=none

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The following directive in the \configuration\config.ini was
    added on a Windows system:
    
        osgi.locking=none
    
    This directive is significant on a Linux system for the
    Integration Bus Toolkit to run properly, but it prevents the
    Workspace from being locked on Windows. The fix for this APAR is
    to remove that directive from the config.ini file on Windows.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The product now locks the workspace on Windows.
