APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Permissions on the current directory get set to 775 when the tar
    command is issued to extract Fix Pack tar files.
    As a result, if the current directory is /tmp then execution
    groups will fail to start with the following message:
    BIP4512S: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    
    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): BIP4512S, execution
    group/integration server fail to start
    

Local fix

  • Correct the permissions of the directory after un-taring the Fix
    Pack tar file.

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of WebSphere Message Broker V8.0 and IBM Integration
    Bus V9.0 who apply Fix Packs on Unix platforms.

    AIX, HP-UX PA-RISC platform, HP-UX Itanium platform, Linux on
    Power platform, Linux on x86 platform, Linux on x86-64 platform,
    Linux on zSeries platform, Solaris x86-64 platform, Solaris
    SPARC platform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Permissions on the current directory get set to 775 when the tar
    command is issued to extract Fix Pack tar files. As a result, if
    the current directory is /tmp then execution groups will fail to
    start with the following message:
    BIP4512S: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

Problem conclusion

  • The product no longer changes the permissions of the current
    directory where the Fix Pack tar file is unpacked.
