Error description

  • In order to enable FTP of files with names containing special
characters, while saving a copy in transit directory, broker
encodes the file name and stores the file using that name.

So, for the file name ??????_3-1Z20150419011655064 (????? are
    Japanese chars), a file 937041.encoded_ ftp_file
is created in mqsitransit and is deleted after successful
transfer. But, along with 937041.encoded_ ftp_file,
an additional file by name 937041 is also created, but never
    deleted.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
In order to enable FTP transfer of files with names containing
special characters, while saving a copy in transit directory,
broker encodes the file name and stores the file using that
    name.

    Foe example:

For the file name ??????_3-1Z20150419011655064 (?????
    areJapanese chars), a file 937041.encoded_ ftp_file
is created in mqsitransit and is deleted after successful
    transfer.

However, along with 937041.encoded_ ftp_file, an additional file
named 937041 is also created. This second file is never deleted.

This can lead to exhaustion of space on the filesystem holding
    the mqsitransit directory.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • The product no longer creates additional files in transit
directory during FTP of files with special characters in file
    names.
