IT08544: EXTERNAL RESTORE FAILING WITH "DBSPACE XYZ NOT RECOVERED FROM SAME ARCHIVE BACKUP AS DBSPACE ROOTDBS" WHEN NO LOGICAL RESTORE IS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When an external backup is taken via a chunk copy of the
  instance during an "onmode - block" state the restore of it can
  fail with
  
      DBspace XYZ not recovered from same archive backup as
  DBspace rootdbs.
  
  when no logical logs are applied but "onmode -m" is used after
  the external restore is done (via "ontape -p -e" or "onbar -r -p
  -e -w").
  
  This issue should arise only when you have a version that has
  the defect fix for APAR IT06530 and there is a temporary
  dbspaces defined and this temporary dbspace is directly
  following the rootdbs, for example:

  This does not necessarily mean the temporary dbspace has the
  dbspace number 2, you could have had other dbspaces between
  rootdbs and this temporary dbspace that are dropped now.
  

Local fix

• As a temporary work around you may consider to drop this
  temporary dbspace, create another empty data dbspace in its
  place and create the temporary dbspace afterwards:
