APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The Network host adapter throttle settings is set the following
way :
Bring up the Main Fastback for Workstations GUI
From the Windows Start menu, click Programs > Tivoli > IBM
Tivoli Storage Manager Fastback for Workstations
From the GUI main page, hover with the mouse on "My Files" and
click on "Settings" under the "Files under Protection" section.
This brings up the configuration wizard.
On that window click on the "Advanced" tab then on "Throttle
Settings"
This will show the "Network Rules Settings" page were you can
configure network adapter settings.

After restarting or rebooting, it has been observed that
FastBack for Workstations does not always set the current
throttle value for backups correctly based on the previously
defined network rules.

Storage Manager Fastback for Workstations

Local fix

  • Contact support to get a fix.

Problem summary

  • When setting a throttle adapter to 0 the
value is not getting set correctly on reboots

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed in version 7.1.1.10 or higher
