IT07460: FAILURE ON FIRST CONNECT TO SECURE JMS CONNECTIONFACTORY

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When connecting to a JMS provider that requires JMS credentials
to be set on the JMS connection (as opposed to the JNDI lookup)
the first attempt to connect will fail if the ConnectionFactory
is defined in a configureable service.

The reason for this is that an attempt is made to lookup the JMS
userid and password to use during connection before the final
ConnectionFactory name to use is calculated.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM Integration Bus using the JMS nodes to connect
    to secure connection factories.

    Platforms affected:
    z/OS, MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The first connection generated by a secure connection factory
will always fail. The Node will automatically attempt to make a
connection again and all subsequent connection attempts will
    succeed.

This issue is caused by attempting to connect before looking up
the credentials to use for the connection. On subsequent
attempts the credentials are cached and so the connection
    succeeds.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • The product has been modified so that the credentials are looked
up before attempting to make the first connection to a secure
    connection factory.
