APAR status

Error description

  • The MESSAGE_ID column for all IBM Sterling File Gateway
tables is set to SCI_LONG which is internally converted to 9
digits in length as the maximum size.
This causes a problem for some customers as they have exceeded
this length and gone past 10.

Local fix

  • Increase the field length on all affected columns

IBM Sterling File Gateway message ID column is set too small
cannot go over one billion.
So, stops processing messages using IBM Sterling File Gateway
when the message ID goes beyond 9 digits.
