APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The HTTPAsyncRequest and SOAPAsyncRequest nodes can leak
SSLSockeImpl objects in the java heap. This is caused by failure
to create a java local stack frame when creating java objects
from an intermediate thread used by the nodes to monitor for
incoming tcp/ip data associated with a response message.

This can result in Java OutOfMemory errors being thrown and the
    Broker either hanging or restarting.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Message Broker V8.0 or IBM Integration
Bus V9.0 using the HTTPAsyncRequest or SOAPAsyncRequest nodes
    with SSL.

    Platforms affected:
    z/OS, MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When making asynchronous webservices requests over SSL using
either the HTTPAsyncRequest or SOAPAsyncRequestNodes SSLSocket
references are leaked leading to exhaustion of JVM Heap memory.
This can lead to Java OutOfMemoryErrors being thrown
unexpectedly which may cause the Execution Group to restart.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details
