Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This APAR affects all users of WebSphere MQ Managed File
Transfer who use a protocol bridge agent as the source of files
for a file transfer. If particular it affects users who use a
wild-card when specifying the names of the source files to be
    transferred.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The problem occurred when attempting to generate a list of file
    names to be processed.

The protocol bridge agent needed to connect to a remote ftp/sftp
server to obtain a list of file names that matched a wild-card
specification. The agent was unable to make the connection and
an exception was generated. The processing of this exception was
handled internally but the action taken allowed the processing
of the transfer to continue processing with an empty list of
file names. This subsequently caused the creation of the error
    message "BFGIO0106E:
File "Server:/dir1/dir2" is not a normal file (it might be
    a directory)".

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ Managed File Transfer product code has been
modified such that when a connection to a remote ftp/sftp server
fails the original exception generated by this failure is now
returned and this will cause the transfer to fail.
