IT03172: MQSICREATEBAR TAKES A LONG TIME TO COMPLETE IF THERE IS AN ERROR IN THE WORKSPACE

Error description

  • When the customer uses the MQSICREATEBAR command to build a BAR
    file, that is based on a workspace that has an error, the
    command attempts to rebuild the workspace multiple times even if
    the -cleanBuild flag is not set. The additional build cycles
    only need to be triggered when the -cleanBuild flag is
    specified.
    

Local fix

  • When the workspace does not contain any errors there is no
    issue, so the user just needs to correct the workpace artifacts
    to remove the workspace errors and avoid extended build times.
    

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of IBM Integration Toolkit V9.0 who try to build a BAR
    file with the MQSICREATEBAR command when the resources to be
    included in the BAR have errors that can not be fixed using the
    regular workspace build.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When users try to build a BAR file with the MQSICREATEBAR
    command, and the resources to be included in the BAR have errors
    that can not be fixed using the regular workspace build, the
    command takes a long time to return as the command tries to
    rebuild the resources in the workspace even though the
    -cleanBuild flag was not set by the user.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The MQSICREATEBAR command will now only do additional workspace
    clean builds when the user sets the flag -cleanBuild. Otherwise
    the command returns right after the initial workspace build
    completes and the BAR compilation result has been received.
