IT02794: IIB V9.0 : NEWLINE CHARACTER INCORRECTLY ADDED TO WORKPATH REGISTRY FILE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In the scenario where the WorkPath registry file is not present
  in a Broker backup zip, the restore of this backup will not work
  correctly as a new WorkPath registry file will be created with
  a newline character at the end of the string. This will cause
  some commands to fail with a BIP2229W warning being seen as
  below:
  
  .mqsistart () [Thread -15344] (Msg 1/1) BIP2229W:
  -529056768 Failed to open file
  var/mqsi/common/log/.mqsistart.trace.bin.0 with error No such
  file or directory
  Failed to open file
  /var/mqsi/common/log/.mqsistart.userTrace.bin.0 with error No
  such file or directory
  

Local fix

• Remove the newline character from the WorkPath file
  
  
  On Unix platforms the following command can be run, from the
  Broker's registry directory, to remove the newline character
  from the registry file.
  
  printf /var/mqsi > WorkPath
  
  The registry directory will typically be
  /var/mqsi/registry/CurrentVersion/

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  In the scenario where the WorkPath registry file is not present

Problem conclusion

• The product no longer adds a newline character to the end of the
  string in the WorkPath file.
