APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • TCP/IP connections used by the Server Input Nodes are nominally
owned by a TCPIP resource manager. Individual flows are either
notified when new data arrives on a connection, or obtain use of
the connection when execution of the flow passes through the
node. Under this model connections are not closed unless all
flows containing server nodes which use the connections are
stopped. It is not therefore possible to prevent new incoming
    connections
while allowing in flight work to complete.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
TCP/IP connections used by the Server Input Nodes are nominally
owned by a TCPIP resource manager. Individual flows are either
notified when new data arrives on a connection, or obtain use of
the connection when execution of the flow passes through the
node. Under this model connections are not closed unless all
flows containing server nodes which use connections are stopped.
It is not therefore possible to prevent new incoming connections
while allowing in-flight work to complete.

There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Integration Bus has been enhanced so that TCP/IP connections
can be quiesced using the command:

    mqsichangeproperties IBNODE -e integrationServerName -o
    TCPIP/quiesce/Server -n port,quiesceTimeoutSec -v
    <port>,<waitPeriod>

The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs:

    Version Maintenance Level
    v9.0 9.0.0.8

The latest available maintenance can be obtained from:
