APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • onsmsync -g command can crash when the value specified
    represents the number of generations/versions of level 0 backup
    to retain is less than the total number of L0 archive entries
    that exist in the ixbar file.
    
    For example:
    When the total number of L0 backup entries in ixbar is 10.
     Then running the following commands will end up either complete
    successfully, or crash
      - onsmsync -g 11; onsmsync -g 10, ... complete
      - onsmsync -g 9; onsmsync -g 8, ... crash
    
    
    The crash generated the details following:

    It also placed a lock on PSM catalog table, and this locking can
    prevent next onbar/onsmsycn to run. To unlock run "onpsm -C
    unlock".
