IO04622: AE FIX COMPLETION FOR IO03985

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After installing PTF's for IO03985, traffic through the NCP may
  hang, resulting in hung VR's, or station INOP's.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: All with PTF's for IO03985 installed         *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After PTF's for IO03985 were installed, *
  *                      the physical NTRI line would hang       *
  *                      causing INOP's at the adjacent nodes.   *
  *                      Other symptoms could include out of     *
  *                      sequence frames.                        *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply appropriate PTF.                       *
  ****************************************************************
  An SCB clear with the MAC transmitter pending caused
  the L3 routine to be stored in the wrong PLUACB, however the
  correct PLUACB was posted, causing ECLLXMT to run instead of
  ECLMXMT.
  

Problem conclusion

• The L3 routine will be stored in the correct PLUACB.  Also,
  the LLC transmitter had code added to delay transmitting if
  the MAC transmitter is pending for transmission.
