Error description
CCL engive at 100% when monitoring physical NTRI lines
Local fix
Stop monotoring the physical NTRI lines
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: ALL NTRI using NPM collection on the NTRI * * physical line * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CCL goes to 100% utilization when * * doing NPM collection on a NTRI physcial * * line. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply appropriate PTF. * **************************************************************** NCP issues a Read Error Log to the adapter when an NPM FORWARD is processed. If NCP then wishes to transmit, it sees there is a command pending (Read Error Log), so it starts a Level 3 PCI loop, waiting for the Read Error Log Interrupt from the adapter. This works ok for a real 3745 (even though the CCU is looping), because the TIC is another adapter. In a CCL however, this can cause a problem because the looping CCU locks out the other thread that performs the TIC functions, so that the TIC is not able to present the interrupt in a timely manner.
Problem conclusion
Code was changed to no longer loop, but instead set an indicator that will be used to PCI the transmitter when an SCB CLEAR is processed by the NCP.
