Local fix
The current workaround is to implement the following JVM properties to disable the use of IPv6. java.net.preferIPv4Stack=true java.net.preferIPv6Addresses=false
Problem summary
The IBM i JDK attempt to lookup IPv6 even if an IPv6 TCP interface is not defined or usable on the IBM i server, this will lead to the loop time be increased.
Problem conclusion
IBM i JDK Products will not look up IPv6 interface if only IPv4 TCP interfaces Exist. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR5 FP30 (8.0.5.30) 7 SR10 FP50 (7.0.10.50) .
