Error description

  • Directory/file permissions do not get set properly when adding
the jruntime AFTER the initial DA install. This works fine when
you install the jruntime as part of the initial install.

    For example:

One DA installed with -addjruntime true during initial install
    has the following:

    # ls -l /opt/FTA92/TWS/JavaExt/
    total 4
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 fta92 fta92 4096 Nov 29 17:09 cfg
    drwxr-xr-x. 5 fta92 fta92 97 Nov 29 17:09 eclipse
    drwxr-xr-x. 4 fta92 fta92 111 Nov 29 17:09 jre
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 fta92 fta92 38 Nov 29 17:09 lib
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 fta92 fta92 100 Nov 29 17:09 lib85
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 fta92 fta92 6 Nov 29 17:09 logs

All are owned by the TWS user.

    ===

However, a second DA was installed with -addjruntime false on
initial install. And then after this, a -modify was run, to add
jruntime. And the permissions are as follows:

    # ./twsinst -new -uname ftajava -acceptlicense yes -agent
    dynamic -inst_dir /opt/FTAJAVA -jmport 39294 -hostname
10.134.34.39 -displayname FTAJAVA -tdwbport 39416 -tdwbhostname
    10.134.34.49 -addjruntime false

No /opt/FTAJAVA/TWS/JavaExt exists - as expected. Then....

    # ./twsinst -modify -uname ftajava -acceptlicense yes
    -addjruntime true -inst_dir /opt/FTAJAVA

    # ls -l /opt/FTAJAVA/TWS/JavaExt/
    total 4
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 4096 Jan 18 14:20 cfg
    drwxr-xr-x. 5 root root 97 Jan 18 14:20 eclipse
    drwxrwxr-x. 4 ftajava ftajava 89 Jan 18 14:20 jre
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 ftajava ftajava 38 Jan 18 14:20 lib
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 ftajava ftajava 100 Jan 18 14:20 lib85
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 ftajava ftajava 6 Jan 18 14:20 logs

The ownership of root on the cfg and eclipse directory (and
files beneath) causes problems for running jobs. Once those
directories/files are set to be owned by the TWS user, jobs run
    fine.
