Error description
DETAIL OF PROBLEM: The TPC NAPI process that is responsible for polling device events finishes with status TERMINIATED, which is the method that informs TPC that this process has finished. However, TPC ignores that status which results in numerous (defunct) processes linked to the TPC Device Server parent process to accumulate. This problem only occurs on Unix systems. RECREATE STEPS: Run command> ps -ef i.e. root 2795 26491 0 Dec14 ? 00:00:00 [ep_xiv_napi.sh] <defunct> root 2798 26491 0 Dec16 ? 00:00:00 [ep_svc_napi.sh] <defunct> root 2801 26491 0 Dec16 ? 00:00:00 [ep_svc_napi.sh] <defunct> root 2843 26491 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 [ep_svc_napi.sh] <defunct> root 2873 26491 0 Nov25 ? 00:00:00 [ep_svc_napi.sh] <defunct> root 2906 26491 0 Nov26 ? 00:00:00 [ep_svc_napi.sh] <defunct> root 2969 26491 0 Dec17 ? 00:00:00 [ep_xiv_napi.sh] <defunct> ________________________________________________________________ ______ DB2 Version used for Server: N/A The defect is against component: 5608TPC00 Server/Manager build/release (TPC): 5.2.0 Agent build/release (TPC): Server/Manager (OS): Linux Agent (OS): ________________________________________________________________ Problem as described by customer: Many defunct processes do not auto-purge Initial customer impact (low/med/high): med
