APAR status

Error description

  • The Jazz Service Management and Tivoli Common Reporting
    installation for TPC may fail in a specific installation or
    upgrade scenario.
    
    The following messages are seen in the traceTPCInstall.log:

    targetFinished
    org.apache.tools.ant.BuildException BPCIN0069E Errors occurred
    during the configuration of Tivoli Common Reporting for Tivoli
    Storage Productivity Center. Review the log files for more
    information.
    
    In the same log file, we can see:
    2013-11-18 23:39:32.503+0100 INFO Executing 'ln' with arguments:
    '-s'
    '/opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/lib32/libdb2.so'
    '/opt/IBM/JazzSM/reporting/cognos/bin/
    
    TPC upgrade error at the TCR component is generated by the wrong
    value of the varDBPath variable from the Install configuration
    files.
    It's occurred because DB2 was upgraded from version 9.7 to 10.1
    after the TPC 5.2.0 upgrade/installation.
    The value of the varDBPath variable was not synchronized with
    the new path of the DB2 Installation.
    
    This scenario only applies for UNIX platform.
    
    steps to reproduce the issue:

    - DB2 9.7 is installed
    - TPC 5.2 is installed or was upgraded
    - DB2 is upgraded in version 10.1
    - Install JazzSM/TCR
    
    Initial Impact: Med
    

Local fix

  • Update the varDBPath variable in the installVariable.properties
    file.
    or
    Remove or rename the DB2 9.7 directory (default is
    /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7) and reboot the machine.
