Error description

  • During the install of the Data Protection for VMware 6.4.1.0
package on Linux, the install gives an error saying:
"The Data Protection for VMware Enablement File is
missing.
The Data Protection for VMware Enablement file is missing. This
file needs to be installed to enable incremental VM backups,
mount and volume instant restore. Make sure you install the
feature using a Data Protection for VMware release version."

The enablement file (license) does get installed so this message
can be ignored.

  • None. The license file is installed.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue has been fixed so that the warning message that
the enablement file is missing will not popup during
installation.

Temporary fix

  • A fix for this problem is currently targeted for interim fix
package 6.4.1.1. Until the interim fix is actually available
this information is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
