IC96845: MULTIPLE PROBLEMS CACHING XSL MAPS, RESULTING IN SLOW RESPONSE TIMES AND UPDATES NOT BEING PICKED UP AFTER MODULE RESTART

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • XSL maps used by the XSLT mediation primitive and BPEL object
mapper are precompiled on deploy-time (or on first use in dev
mode) and then cached for reuse. In some instances the
precompiled versions could not be found, or the cache was not
reset after module restart, resulting in slow response times
when a map was recompiled, and updates to a map not being found
since the old cached version was still available. This fix
ensures that the precompilation info is correctly available, and
module caches are no longer available after a module restart.

Corrects issues after new caching from IC91519 is included in
the product. This causes servers to need to be restarted to pick
changes to data maps in BPEL or XSLT changes.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of Business Process Manager v8 who use XSL transforms.

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When using XSL transforms the maps are cached for later use.
There were issues whereby this was not happening correctly with
the effect that some apps using XSL transforms would run slow
while other apps would see updates to the maps not being picked
    up after a module restart.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was modified such that the XSL caching code was
    improved.
