APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After upgrading to Websphere MQ File Transfer Edition (WMQFTE)
7.0.4.3 the updated JSch jar file does not get loaded properly
    due to classpath settings.
When the fixpack is installed WMQ FTE is incorrectly using the
old JSch jar file (jsch-0.1.40.jar) rather than the new version
    (jsch-0.1.48.jar).

Local fix

  • Rename jsch-0.1.40.jar file to jsch-0.1.40.jar-bak, to prevent
the file being added to the agent's classpath.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects all users of the WebSphere MQ File Transfer
Edition (FTE) protocol bridge agent connecting to an SFTP file
server who have installed the WebSphere MQ FTE fix pack
7.0.4.3 over an existing WebSphere MQ FTE installation.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When a WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition (FTE) agent is
started, its classpath is generated based on the .jar and .zip
files present in the /lib directory (where is the high level
directory where WebSphere MQ FTE has been installed).

As both the older and newer versions of the JSch jar file were
present, the older version was added to the agent's classpath
first, followed by the newer version. As a result, the older
version of the JSch library was used by the agent instead of the
    newer version.

The provision of the updated level of the JSch library is
documented by APAR IC87351, which is included in WebSphere MQ
FTE fix-pack 7.0.4.3. Accordingly, when applying the WebSphere
MQ FTE 7.0.4.3 fix pack over an existing WebSphere MQ FTE
installation, the issue described by IC87351 will not be
addressed without performing the local fix instructions for this
    issue.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition (FTE) agent code has been
updated to prevent the older JSch library (filename:
jsch-0.1.40.jar) from being added to the agent's classpath. This
ensures the agent will use the newer version of the JSch library
(filename: jsch-0.1.48.jar) that is shipped with the WebSphere
    MQ FTE fix pack 7.0.4.3.
