Error description

  • If a Tivoli Storage Manager Client defined only on Tivoli
Storage Manager Source server is replicated to a Target server
by REPLICATE NODE process and the Client node is using a
password which has "=" character, the replication process will
fail with the following error logged to Activity Log:

ANR2020E REGISTER NODE: Invalid parameter - <password string
    before "=">

The problem will occur whether this password is specified
manually or generated by the client enabled
    "PASSWORDACCESS GENERATE" option.

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
A server trace collected on Source server with REPL traceflags

Local fix

  • Run the "update node" command to update a new simple password
and let client remember it or update node with FORCEPwreset=y to
let client create a new random password which has no "="
    character.
