Error description

  • When using solidDB Data Dictionary (soldd) to export data
definition statements from solidDB databases with
referencing/referenced tables, some of the generated SQL scripts
might include the following kind of problems:

    - CREATE TABLE and CREATE VIEW statements are in wrong order.
    - Indexes are not output correctly (some indexes are missing),
which causes foreign key constraint definitions to fail.

Local fix

  • To avoid problems related to missing indexes, use the
undocumented -xfkaltertable option in the soldd startup script.
The -xfkaltertable option generates the CREATE TABLE statements
without indexes. The indexes are included in separate ALTER
    TABLE statements.

To recover from the wrong ordering of the CREATE TABLE and
CREATE VIEW statements, edit the SQL script generated by soldd
    (soldd.sql) manually.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix is included in IBM solidDB V7.0 Interim Fix 8. Now solidDB
Data Dictionary (soldd) exports data definition statements from
solidDB databases with referencing/referenced tables and/or
views works in correct order. Table id column is used to order
    the tables/views in correct order.
