  • EHLLAPI application using lower case session letters fails
    after upgrade to PCOM v6

Local fix

  • Use upper case session letters

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All EHLLAPI users *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EHLLAPI functions fail when lowercase *
    * character is passed as the session ID *
    *                      (PSID)                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When "MaxEmulatorSessions" keyword of "Session" section in the
    PCSWIN.INI file is set to 26 and the user has started session
    'A' and runs EHLLAPI program that issues an EHLLAPI call (for
    eg., "Connect Presentation Space") with 'a' as the PSID , the
    API fails.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSHLL32.DLL has been changed to ensure that EHLLAPI functions
    are case insensitive with respect to the PSID when
    "MaxEmulatorSessions" keyword of "Session" section in the
    PCSWIN.INI file is set to maximum 26. However, when 52 sessions
    are used, EHLLAPI functions are case-sensitive with respect to
    the PSID.

    Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.8 Refresh Pack
