IC90439: PCOMM: AUTORECONNECT OF TELNET TAKES 2 SECONDS TO SEND OUT THE FIRST RECONNECTION ATTEMPT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer's applications depend on auto-reconnect function
  of telnet3270 if user jumps from one to another because
  their application issues DCTLU to TN3270 gateway when logoff
  from the source application and it translated to 'disconnect'
  of TCPIP connection with client.
  When customer was using old HOD, the HOD emmulater issued
  'connect' immediately after disconnected, however,
  Pcomm issues it two seconds later after the session was once
  disconnected.
  As the result, customer gets VTAM initial screen instead of
  the one for another host application.

  When "Auto-reconnect" is enabled for the session profile, PCSWS
  attempts reconnecting to the host whenever the connection drops.
  There is a delay of 2 seconds between each reconnect attempt.
  

Problem conclusion

• PCSTLNET.DLL has been changed to reduce the 2 second delay on
  reconnect attempts.
  
  Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.8 Refresh Pack
