IC90115: BIG DATA TOOLKIT LOOKS IN WRONG LOCATION FOR SRC AND LIB DIRECTORIES WHEN USING CLOUDERA

APAR status

  • Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

  • If you want to use the HDFSDirectoryScan, HDFSFileSource, or
HDFSFileSink operators in the Big Data Toolkit in InfoSphere
Streams, you must set the HADOOP_HOME environment variable. The
Big Data Toolkit assumes that the src and lib directories are in
the location pointed to by HADOOP_HOME. This is not the case
    with a Cloudera installation.

Local fix

  • To work around the problem, create symbolic links from the path
that you specify in the HADOOP_HOME to the location of the src
and lib directories in your Cloudera environment.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
Users with applications that use operators from the Big Data
    Toolkit with Cloudera.
    Problem Description: See Error Description.
Problem Conclusion: This APAR reports a deficiency that might be
fixed in a future release of this product. There is no plan to
provide a fix in InfoSphere Streams Version 3.0
