• When a message map calls certain XPath function with a
  single-value argument, the Toolkit gives an unexpected runtime
  exception 2949 "The message path references multiple value.
  Ensure the message path refers to a single value. Check the
  message path does not have repeating segments or its repeating
  segments are bounded by a for statement."

  All users of WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit V7.0 and higher
  using a map with XPath function calls.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  At runtime, a valid map with an XPath function call results in
  an exception:
  'THROW EXCEPTION MESSAGE 2949 VALUES( 'The message path
  references multiple values',
  'Ensure the message path refers to a single value',
  'Check the message path does not have repeating segments or
  its repeating segments are bounded by a for statement');'
  
  The cause is a defective internal ESQL procedure called by the
  map generated ESQL.
  

Problem conclusion

• WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit has been modified so that
  this runtime exception will not be thrown.
