A connectivity problem caused the storage volume's status to become "Unknown". This causes deployments that use that storage volume to fail. Error in Workload trace.log file is: com.ibm.iaas.api.client.exception.MaestroRestException: volume is not available Also seen: CWZIP2018E The group deploy operation failed because at least one member failed: xxxxxxx User yyyyy: CWZIP1991E Unable to get storage volume from volume placement.
Local fix
Problem summary
The virtual system deployment code was verifying resource availabilty and failing after certain status check results.
Problem conclusion
The code checking and verifying storage volume status needed to be updated to recognize certain states and recover.
